Recommendations Postal Voting

Based on the available options to receive your ballot papers we provide you with suggestions what option to chose to receive your ballot for the delegation election.

These suggestions are based on when you may be leaving Luxembourg on a rotation or when returning to Luxembourg from a rotation between February 27th and March 12th.

We strongly advise, that you consider roster changes and delayed arrivals when making your choice. You must also consider the increased transfer time of registered mail, especially when mailed from Luxembourg to any other country; that mail may not be delivered on Saturdays, legal holidays, that someone must be present at the address you would receive your ballot papers, as those have to be sent by the company by registered mail.

In case you should be scheduled for any ground duties, e.g. simulator, please read the recommendations provided at the bottom of this page.

In case you are on sick or maternity leave, on vacation or on part-time, you should request to receive your ballots by mail at either your home address registered with the company or at any address the ballot papers should be sent to.

We highly suggest, that you make a conservative choice to ensure that you would receive your ballot in time!

If you have any question or are unsure, which would be the best option for you, we highly recommend that you get in touch with us before registering for postal voting with HR. Either send an email to elections@alpl.lu or call the 24/7 hotline at +352 42 23 30.

In this case you must consider the transfer times of registered mail, which would only be received eventually only as early as Monday, March 4th. Please keep in mind that in many countries, including Luxembourg, mail is not delivered on Sundays, legal holidays and Saturdays.

Your Board will provide additional guidance how you can make sure, that your ballot will be returned latest by March 12th. We urge you to use the email sent to you by the ALPL Board to register for postal voting in order to receive this additional information.

05.30 to 09.00

Remember, March 12th is the LAST day for you to cast your votes. The electoral office will close at 16.30 LT and you must have casted your votes by this time. In case you have to report before one of the electoral offices opens we strongly recommend that you get in touch with us at elections@alpl.lu or call the hotline at +352 42 23 30.

Ground duties

If you are scheduled for ground duties, e.g. simulator training, we strongly recommend, that you arrive in time to receive your ballot and cast your votes immediately after you have received your ballot at HR. HR business hours are 08.00 to 17.00 LT Monday to Friday, with the exception of March 12th, when you have to cast your vote by 16.30 LT in the Electoral office located in the Brussels training room [map].
