IFALPA Safety Bulletin – SID and STAR Phraseology

IFALPA published a Safety Bulletin regarding changes to SID and STAR Phraseology.

It has been widely reported that some crews have not been clearly noti ed as to the changes to SID and STAR Phraseology. Safety Bulletin 16SAB06 was published in October 2016 and gave the details of the changes to the SID and STAR Phraseology.  is Safety Bulletin is being published as a reminder to all crews that changes have been published by ICAO (effective as of November 2016) in order to make all SID and STAR related clearances explicit thereby removing ambiguities. It is essential that if a question still remains with the  ight crew about their clearance that they query ATC in a timely manner.

IFALPA Safety Bulletin – Turnback Procedures in the NAT Airspace

IFALPA published a Safety Bulletin regarding the turn back procedures in the NAT airspace.

The latest edition of NAT Document 007 – North Atlantic Operations and Airspace Manual (v.2017-1) contains a subtle modification to the NAT contingency procedures in Chapter 13 – Special Procedures for In-Flight Contingencies. An IFALPA Safety Bulletin highlights these modifications.
