How to get to Luxembourg
Luxembourg is located in the heart of Europe and easily reached by air, train service or car from most major European cities.
Arriving by Air
Luxembourg’s national airport Findel (LUX) is located only a 10-minute drive from the venue of the 73rd IFALPA Conference and from the heart of the city. Ample connections to many European cities, including important gateways such as Frankfurt, Munich, London and Paris, are provided, making it easy to get to Luxembourg by air. More information about Luxembourg’s airport and getting to Luxembourg by air can be found on www.luxairport.lu. The chart below shows the cities which are linked to Luxembourg’s airport by non-stop service.
Additionally, Luxembourg’s Findel Airport is connected by bus service with Frankfurt’s International Airport (FRA), providing an alternate mode of transport between the international gateway Frankfurt and Luxembourg. More information is available by following this link.
Free Public Transport from Airport to Hotels and Conference Venue
If you plan to arrive in Luxembourg by air to attend the 73rd IFALPA Conference or the Global Pilot Symposium 2018 you will find a welcome booth in the arrivals area, just behind baggage claim and customs. Please proceed to this welcome booth to pick up your public transport badge. This badge allows attendees of the 73rd IFALPA Conference to use the public transport in Luxembourg during conference. If you plan not to arrive at the airport, you can pick up your public transport badge at the conference venue when registering as delegate.
ALPL volunteers will be available at the welcome booth to assist you with your transfer to your conference accommodation at the Sofitel Luxembourg Europe, Meliã Luxembourg, Novotel Luxembourg Kirchberg and Novotel Suites Luxembourg.
The booth will be open Wednesday March 14th and Thursday March 15th from 08.00 to 23.00 and on Friday March 16th from 08.00 to 12.00.
