On 30 October 2022 new EASA fuel rules will come into effect (Regulation (EU) 2021/1296 and ED Decision 2022/005/R).
ECA recently published the briefing leaflet Fuel management – A briefing leaflet on EASA’s new Fuel Management rules. This publication provides you with an overview of the main changes which will be introduced by these new EASA rules and the consequences for the flight crew. The leaflet also includes several points of concerns raised by ECA during the rule making process.
In any case the rules and policies established by your operator, e.g., in your company’s Operations Manual will prevail for the time being.
